ZITE8138 - Systems Planning

Description: This course will help students to plan the wise use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems in their organization. The students will know the techniques for systems planning, as used in designing a system and in preparing a Business Case for the introduction of innovative systems architectures. They will become aware of the theory underlying the development of the techniques. Topics include: work systems and Enterprise Architecture; ICT governance principles; systems theory, especially control and coupling; ICT evaluation theory and practice, and proper risk management. The course will make extensive use of the POWER WHAT planning process, supported by the Analysis of networked Links (AnnL) software.
